Fast Forward Presents
Fast Forward is Scotland’s national youth work organisation specialising in risk-taking behaviours, prevention, and early intervention. Our mission is to promote health and wellbeing through education by, with, and for children and young people.
The Scottish Gambling Education Hub is a project run by Fast Forward, supporting young people’s health and wellbeing by promoting gambling education and prevention across Scotland. This programme was commissioned by GambleAware.
As part of the project, Fast Forward was funded to produce and deliver a peer theatre piece to raise awareness of gambling harm, and to address youth gambling and other risk-taking behaviours. Fast Forward has extensive experience of using peer theatre to raise awareness, educate and engage young people on such areas as substance misuse, knife crime, sexual health and parenting. ‘Trust Me’ was produced by Fast Forward in collaboration with Strange Town Theatre Company, and performed by young people who were also involved in the play’s creation.
After two national tours, ‘Trust Me’ has now been performed in more than 100 high schools and has been seen by over 15,000 pupils receiving, positive feedback from audiences across Scotland.
Following the success of the theatre tours, this short film and digital action pack have been produced for use by teachers, youth workers and young people to continue to raise awareness and pose questions about gambling and gambling harm.
‘Trust Me’ explores the impact gambling and other risk-taking behaviours can have on young people, their family and friends.
A key part of the success of the film is down to the wonderful cast and crew, a big shout out has to go to the 3 main actors Suzanne, Fraser and Harrison who I toured with across Scotland with “Trust Me” theatre show, and they clearly demonstrate their fine quality as actors in the film. Working with David and Scott and the crew from Strange Boat is always a pleasure with their expertise in film making.

Working with our trusted partners
Trust Me is a good watch, it works, it feels real and the ‘full envelope, empty envelope’ metaphor will stay a long time.
I had never really thought gambling was a problem but after watching this movie I realised that gambling is an addiction that can ruin people's lives.
I liked how the film was so easy to understand and had a lot of information to learn from. It showed that gambling can affect your daily life and future life choices and even your relationships with family and friends. It takes over your life
